Dr Lavinia Ferrante di Ruffano joined YHEC as a Senior Research Consultant in 2021, and is now a Project Director within the Reviews and Evidence Synthesis team. Lavinia has a PhD in trial design and analysis for diagnostic tests, from the University of Birmingham. Lavinia is an experienced end–end project manager, organising successful collaborations with international specialists and coordinating/undertaking a range of reviews (systematic, scoping, pragmatic and methodology) from topic briefings, scoping and protocol development through to synthesis and final publication in peer reviewed journals. Lavinia has over 20 years of experience in data analysis and reviews, including 15 years in the field of applied health research as a systematic reviewer and methodologist. Before arriving at YHEC, she spent 14 years at the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Applied Health Research where she specialised in primary studies and reviews of diagnostics across a wide range of clinical topics. Since joining YHEC, Lavinia has successfully completed numerous review projects involving evidence synthesis of pharmaceuticals and devices for private and public sector clients.
