Data extraction is the process of retrieving relevant information and data from a data source. Data for systematic reviews can come from a range of sources including both published and grey literature. A data extraction form is designed to capture the information of interest in a structured and systematic way, allowing easy manipulation and analysis at later stages of the review, as well as quality checking of the extraction process.
